Second Story Addition in Fort Worth, TX
The Project
A 1920s Ryan Place home needed more space without losing a single bit of its original character. The homeowners had two young kids, a third bedroom that wasn't cutting it, and a neighborhood they had no intention of leaving. The solution was a second story — but Ryan Place's historic character meant the addition had to be invisible.
We added the second story with new primary suite and bedroom, rebuilt the kitchen, and matched brick, trim, and rooflines to the existing structure. The historical overlay required approval at every design phase, and we worked directly with the preservation committee to get it right.
The result was an addition that neighbors assumed had always been there. The homeowners gained 900 square feet without losing an inch of yard — or their 1920s home's soul.
Scope of Work
“The quality of work is incredible. They matched the brick and trim of our 1920s home perfectly. It doesn't look like an addition — it looks like it's always been here.”
