Design-build is typically more cost-efficient than the fragmented architect-contractor model because design decisions are informed by construction knowledge from the start. You don't pay architecture fees for designs that aren't buildable at the price the architect assumed.
Timeline
3–9 months depending on addition type. The design phase and construction phase are coordinated — not sequential.
