Home Addition + Full Remodel in Fort Worth, TX
The Project
The Overton Park house was a well-located 1940s property that had been through several rounds of amateur renovation — each one adding something awkward and mismatched. There was a drop ceiling in the living room covering original plaster. A kitchen remodel from the 1990s that didn't know what to do with itself. And a primary bedroom that was larger than average but had no bathroom attached to it.
The project was a full gut renovation: everything opened up, original features identified and restored or replicated, and a primary suite addition added to the back of the house that finally gave the bedroom the bath it deserved.
Overton Park's character-driven housing stock meant the exterior had to be handled carefully. We restored the original brick and replaced the windows with period-appropriate profiles that met modern efficiency standards without looking out of place on a 1940s home.
