The Project
The homeowners on Mistletoe had a detached structure they'd barely used in years and parents who were starting to need more consistent support. An in-law suite on the property made perfect sense — but what they had was a raw shell with no plumbing, no insulation, and minimal electrical.
We converted the entire structure into a 750-square-foot independent living unit: a full kitchen, a living area, one bedroom, and a bathroom designed for aging-in-place with a walk-in shower and grab bar blocking. The original large opening became a window and a glass entry door that floods the space with light.
The unit has a separate entrance from the side of the property, so everyone maintains genuine privacy. The parents moved in within six months of the first conversation.
